His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia granted us the blessing for establishing and officially registering the St. John Chrysostom Orthodox Church in Bangalore, under the patronage and the canonical protection of the Australian & New Zealand Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia on 12-Nov-2012.

The Christian Faith taught and practiced here is Orthodox, originating in the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ as revealed through Holy Scripture and by the Church that was founded on the day of Pentecost. St. John Chrysostom Orthodox Church follows the teachings of the Orthodox Church only, as taught by the Seven Ecumenical Councils and adheres to all the teachings of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia. There is No Spiritual Involvement with any Oriental Communities. Spiritual Union is possible only with those Canonical Churches that are united with the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia.

The ROCOR priest serving the community in Bangalore is Fr. Silouan (Fr. Sunil Benedict). Fr. Silouan was Ordained by Metropolitan Hilarion, first Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia on 5th Jan 2014. He is a Canonical Priest only under ROCOR. To Reiterate again, Spiritual Involvement is possible only with those Canonical Churches that are united with the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia.
